On September 28 thru October 2, IHRA held the Division 9 Summit Team Finals at Rockingham Dragway. A total of eleven tracks were represented, including the two Summit SuperSeries competitors from Aruba International Raceway. Both the sanctioning body and the other tracks involved in the team finals were happy that Team Aruba was there to compete in the SSS run off as well as the other races scheduled. The two competitors, Steven Geerman and Keldrick Koolman represented Team Aruba with all the compassion, grace and sportsmanship that the little island is known for. Having them attend this event was a big deal not only to them but to the other competitors there. Both IHRA and the other competitors understand and respect the commitment and financial obligations they sacrificed to attend the event. Every competitor, crew person and track official in Aruba should be as proud of them as the IHRA is. They represented your track well.

In 2004 Jonathan Tromp made the Summit SuperSeries a true international program by becoming the box class World Champion. His presence at the IHRA awards ceremony and speech was truly inspirational. In 2008 Jean Carlo Ras was selected as a “Wild Card” entry for a chance to attend the run off at Rockingham, making it all the way to the runner up position.

Everyone at IHRA and Summit Racing Equipment are proud that Aruba International Raceway is a part of the IHRA family and the Summit SuperSeries
